My Kyptonite

When i was scrolling through reddit, i found a song

After listening to it, i’m completely hooked

Bbm @ 01:14 killed me

The song uses the F major chord progression, contains F Gm Am Bb C Dm Edim

But when it uses Bbm, borrowing from the F minor chord progression, i have an eargasm

Yes, my kryptonite is chord borrowing from the opposite side

It gives so much contrast that i can’t get enough of

tears began to well up @ 00:39

Can you hear it? It gives off such melancholy vibes. I love it 😍

I also love when the minor chord progression borrows from the major chord progression

C @ 00:25

The changes man, it’s like watching the light at the end of the tunnel

One of my fav song also use this method

the sun rise @ 00:58

And then there are some that go back and forth like crazy

Like my all time fav, Regret #9 by Steven Wilson

Regret #9 starts at 06:23

There is so much more music out there that contains my kryptonite, waiting to be found

Wait for me, oh my kryptonite

Meanwhile i’m gonna noodling with my fav backing tracks

awesome solo @ 10:38

Learning Guitar (again)

So this year i’m picking up my old dusty guitar (Yamaha F350 that i bought 10 years ago and only used it for 1 week and gave up) and start to watch a lot of youtube. Learning bunch of scales until the fretboard become familiar (i skip chords for the moment because i suck at it) and practice it with backing track (noodling and stuff).

Doing it every day for at least 10 minutes a day (usually before going to bed) and when i think i’m good enough, i start recording myself and review it or send it to my friends.

This time i want to upload it to this blog (maybe you will enjoy it, fingers cross). It’s improvisation from this awesome backing track. I call it “Chromatic in D”, because Victor Wooten said the best scale is chromatic scale. I tried to play all 12 notes in my 1 minute solo.
